Records Management Division

Records management in the Public Records and Archives Administration Department (PRAAD) is a management framework consisting of a mix of objectives, policies, priorities, strategic and operational plans, projects, resources, performance measures and other elements necessary to ensure that records management operates efficiently and effectively in public institutions.

The Records Management Division is one of three divisions of the Department with the responsibility of managing current and semi-current (semi-active) records till its final disposition.

The Records Management Division has oversight responsibilities over

 

  • The management of current records in public offices
  • Review of recordkeeping systems of public offices, and
  • The operations of the National Records Centre
